Assignment 9: Megan Meadors

Personally, I don’t think there is a time for war. Imagine two (or more) countries sending their soldiers into battle. Imagine families letting their young boys and girls go into battle where they could potentially be killed. Imagine the worry their parents go through on a daily basis, wondering if their little boy (or girl) is coming home. Though there’s that, I still think it’s a necessary evil. If another country is directly threatening your country, I think their governments have the responsibility to protect their people. Diplomacy should definitely be the top option but if that and other options don’t work, then sometimes war is the only option and must be taken. Keeping diplomatic relations should definitely be a priority to keep tensions lower so that war can be avoided, but this only can go so far. Sometimes countries don’t want to cooperate or make a deal, which limits the effectiveness of this option.
