Wednesday nights. I love Wednesday nights. My family and I gather around the
television to see our three shows: The Goldbergs, Modern Family, and Blackish. These nights are
my favorite not only because of these three great modern sitcoms, but also because our family
together. It is so challenging for us all to find time to be together, with all of us being so busy, but
we manage.
My Mother and I particularly enjoy The Goldbergs. Our family agrees that Beverly
Goldberg (The mother of the show) shows strong parallels with my mother. We laugh along for
the hour as we skip through commercials because we always start late. It’s a good time to relax
in the middle day of the week. And afterward we talk about what we enjoyed and what we took
away from each episode. It defiantly is not your typical family dinner, but it is for us every
Wednesday night at 8PM eastern/7PM central.
That’s the beauty of television. It brings people together. I may not have been alive at the
time, but the days of M.A.S.H. or Seinfeld where the entire country would, for only a brief
moment, be on pause and united.
