Assignment 7--Eli Wrinn

My aspiration is to become well, schooled in almost every area--a renaissance man if you will. This is partly why I chose the liberal arts academy over the other STEM programs I was accepted into. I'm sure you can see this through my blog posts, I touch politics, philosophy, science, and art. (Mainly because you made me but I'm interested in the stuff as well) I also want to be well schooled in history, because one of my favorite things to do is find continuities between the subjects and history can provide the perspective to do so. I do not require a lot from my college, I have been rather irked by the college process and do not feel that it selects students effectively and objectively, so I am strongly considering attending UK to save time and money. Despite this, my preferred college follows the following criteria, "big school small city or small school big city or even big school small city." I do not want to be in the middle of nowhere, I think being in the middle of an active society would be an important part of the education. Colleges I am looking at like this are Chicago University, Johns Hopkins, and Brown. These schools also provide opportunities to continue my career in either basketball or baseball. If I get a well-rounded education from a place like these, I could take a job in any area while still being able to study and be familiar with other areas for personal work and thought. Keeping my options open is very important to me.
