Assignment 6: Katie Chen

A list of my interests could go on forever, but I've managed to narrow it down to just a few for the sake of this blog post.

1. Comedy
I've always been intrigued and entertained by comedy, especially stand up and improv. The art of crafting jokes either in advance or on the spot interests me to point of wanting to try it myself. And as it turns out, I'm terrible at it. I don't think I'm funny to the point of doing to stand up but I think my jokes have a place on twitter. Hearing such clever jokes and puns interests me because I want to know how that comedian's mind works, how they're able craft stories and jokes just on the spot.

2. Art
Ever since fourth grade when I visited the Metropolitan Museum for the first time, I fell in love with art. Impressionism, to be more specific. I was always intrigued how artists created a beautiful piece of art out of almost nothing. As I began creating art myself, I found myself asking questions about composition, lighting, and subject matter. The amount of artistic liberty you get when painting can be exhilarating. This might seem a little weird, but the way a brush flows across a canvas excites me. Just the motion of brushing paint back and forth and creating something on a canvas is just so satisfying.

3. Conspiracy Theories
This one might be the weirdest. Although I don't believe in most of them, the concept of conspiracy theories interests me. It makes people question the world around them, and what they know to be true. For example, the theory that the moon landing was staged is one of the most interesting to me. Even though I don't believe it, the amount of evidence and theories that other people have collected to prove their theory not only intrigues me but also blows my mind.
