Assignment 7: Olivia Klee

Weird. That's how I feel about college. Does anyone else find it a little strange that we're entrusted with an incredibly expensive decision that will strongly affect, if not define, four years of our life, while at the same time we still have to ask permission to go to the bathroom? (And shout-out to Mr. Logsdon for being the exception to that rule.)

Emotions aside, three things are set in stone: I want to major in Neuroscience (because that's just a no-brainer), I want to be involved in scientific research, and I do not want to go into debt.

I've thought about going to Ohio. The Ohio State University has an impressive undergraduate research program, but without a scholarship, my family cannot afford it. And besides, do I really want to go to a school called THE Ohio State University? That just screams spoiled brat in my mind. University of Cincinnati offers an elaborate, three-part Neuroscience program and close to in-state tuition for Kentucky residents, but rumor has it that the surrounding area is unsafe. And of course, there's University of Kentucky...twenty minutes from home.

So I'm still undecided.  But really, college is what you make it. I think with a positive attitude and a lot of hard work, anyone will succeed at almost any college they choose. But what do I know? I still have to ask to take the pass.
