Someone is always working harder. Someone is always more talented. Someone is
always going to be better. This is the reality in anything competitive. When I’m sound asleep at
5:30AM, there is someone doing pushups in their room or hitting off the tee in a warehouse. I
have to work tirelessly to get my arm velocity to 80 MPH, yet some people can through into the
90’s with little to no effort. I could do all the 6:30 A.M. workouts I want; there’s going to be
somebody somewhere working harder. What’s my biggest fear? That someone’s better. All I can
do is play to the best of my abilities and work as hard as possible. That’s all any of us are capable
of. If I come to grips with these facts of competitiveness, I believe that I will overcome this fear.
Until then, you know where to find me at 6:30 A.M.
