Assignment 3: Ben Sanner

Reading the prompt made me think straight to the summer where I volunteered at Bethany Christian mission. Bethany is located at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains in Western Wolfe county. In Bethany they lack basic needs such as running water and heating/cooling system. When we arrived we started making little food packages to send to the families, while we also put on free events such as bingo and a festival. Seeing all of this and how appreciative they were throughout the whole thing gave made me realize what all we take for granted and how much we waste. My church continues to go to Bethany each summer, and I look forward to go again.
