As you may learn from my previous blog posts, I like to think on philosophical subjects a lot. I would join Philosophy Club if I didn't have Baseball or Basketball 6 days a week. It has really been difficult to approach this assignment, so I will just list areas I think about a lot.
Politics: My mentality at this point is "Just as a corrupt king cannot be trusted to lead people, an uninformed public cannot be trusted to know its best self-interests." This is not just coming from a bitter HRC supporter, I realize it was inevitable for an unqualified joke to take office. And unlike some people that share my views, I don't now respect "moderate" people of the other party, because "it could be so much worse." The situation we are in now is their doing. Their de-funding of education and creating the muse of "grassroots" character culminated in the previous election. However, I believe that situation was inevitable as well; if large corporations are given any influence to the source of power at all, they will use it to benefit themselves until the government becomes dysfunctional. However, I believe that situation is inevitable as well--there will always be greedy people. I am still thinking of my solution to this dilemma, maybe it is a technocracy. (It isn't a movie where everything goes wrong, it would be well-executed)
Technology: If anyone says they miss the good old days, the good old days had someone who missed the good old days. And this repeats until the dawn of man, and then to the dawn of life. I believe the advancement of technology is only evolution, just in a different form. Just like any evolution, it is effective as well as inevitable. Therefore, we should embrace it and see how far it takes us. If humans are like they are described in The Matrix as "a virus," why don't we spread and overtake whatever left us clueless and alone.
Aliens: I do not believe aliens exist, our story of evolution happened about as fast as possible and the odds seem insurmountable. But I believe they should and will with our help. There are many different life forms that can survive in space and I'm sure they can be made to reproduce on other planets, starting their own process of evolution. Like I said before, let's spread our virus.
Origins: I believe the quantum theory of the Big Bang is the most viable. Under it, it is completely possible for an explosion like such to occur, and we are simply living on the debris of the explosion. I believe, like any explosion, it will die down and all matter will decay in a ridiculous amount of years.
